The Lappe Ski Centre, owned and operated by the Puiras family, is a winter paradise just 20 minutes north of Thunder Bay. Since 1979, the Centre has been a cornerstone in the local ski community, promoting a healthy active lifestyle and the enjoyment of the outdoors in our northern climate.
The Lappe Ski Centre has over 14 kms of beginner to expert trails, with 6.5 kms of lit trails for night skiing. With lots of early snow and two PistenBullys, visitors experience excellent conditions from December to April. The Centre frequently hosts provincial, national, and international cross-country ski competitions while also helping develop some of Canada’s greatest skiers. The provincial Ontario Cup series and other major events, such as the Nordiq Canada Ski Nationals, are routinely hosted at the Lappe Ski Centre.
After your ski, you can warm up in the newly renovated chalet, which includes saunas, showers and fully accessible change rooms and bathroom. On the main floor is the kitchen and eating area where you can treat yourself to traditional Finnish pancakes, homemade soup and other treats.
